After winning the English Amateur Championship in 1999 and 2000, Englishman Paul Casey turned pro and was named Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year after finishing 22nd on the European Tour Order of Merit. He earned his first Ryder Cup spot last year after finishing a commendable tied sixth in his debut US Masters. Three time European Tour event winners, Casey’s rise to prominence hardly surprise those who have been tracking his progress. During his American college days, he won an unprecedented three straight Pac-10 Championship titles, breaking Tiger Woods’ scoring record in 2000, the last of the three. He also broke Arizona State University’s scoring average record, held by Phil Mickelson.
