搜狐体育讯 北京时间12月12日消息，老虎伍兹在个人网站上发表声明：由于他的不忠行为，令妻儿及很多人失望，感到十分抱歉，并希望能获得原谅。因此，他决定，无限期“暂停”职业高尔夫生涯。以下是官网原文：

我深深意识到，由于我的不忠让许多人失望，并由此带来了极大的伤害。尤其，我伤害了我的妻子和孩子们，我让他们失望了。
我希望对所有人再说一遍，我万分抱歉，我希望得到你们的原谅。也许我所造成的伤害不可能弥补，但是我要尽最大力量去尝试。>>查看伍兹“外遇门”最新消息
我想恳请每个人，包括我的球迷还有我基金会的好人们、我的赞助商、PGA巡回赛、还有一起参赛的球员们，希望他们能够了解。现在对于我来说最重要的是我的家庭，我们需要一些时间、需要一些私人空间、一个安静的港湾，我们需要解决一些自己的问题。
在经过自我反省后，我决定“无限期”暂停我的高尔夫职业生涯，我现在需要把重点放在做一个好丈夫、好父亲和一个好人上面。
再一次，恳请大家给我们家庭一些时间，我非常感谢那些在这个困难时期已经向我们家庭提供了同情和关心的朋友们。

I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children. I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I've done, but I want to do my best to try.
I would like to ask everyone, including my fans, the good people at my foundation, business partners, the PGA Tour, and my fellow competitors, for their understanding. What's most important now is that my family has the time, privacy, and safe haven we will need for personal healing.
After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person.
Again, I ask for privacy for my family and I am especially grateful for all
those who have offered compassion and concern during this difficult
period.
