Chinese Olympic gold medalist Tian Liang and world champion Wu Minxia will be among a host of diving stars competing in the Diving Super Final to be held from June 19-20 in Mexico, organizers confirmed. It will be the last diving event before this August's Athens Olympics. In men's 10m platform, Tian is expected to meet strong challenge from world champion Alexander Despatie of Canada, Australian Mathew Helm, and Pan American champion Rommel Pacheco of Mexico, who won the Rome Grand Prix. The organizers said that divers from Australia, Canada, Cuba, China, Britain, Russia, Japan and Mexico have confirmed their participation in the Super Final, while their counterparts from the United States, Finland and Hungary are yet to confirm. The men's platform final will take place on June 20. The International Federation demanded that the winners of this year's Grand Prix should participate in the competition in Mexico to cash their awards, guaranteeing in this way the presence in Mexico of the world's best athletes. World champion Alexander Dobroskok, Olympic silver medalist Fernando Platas of Mexico and Russian veteran Dimitri Sautin are title favorites in the men's springboard events. 转自搜狐
