Shanghai has announced it will host the first ever Formula One International Motorboat Grand Prix on the Huangpu River. The competition will take place over two days, from July 31st to August 1st this year. Much like F1 cars, the boats are aerodynamically designed and resemble high-tech planes without wings. Officials state that some boats can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour within 3.5 seconds. Founded in 1981, the F1 Motor Boat Grand Prix holds 10 competitions around the world each year. This year, twelve teams will participate in the Shanghai competition. 转自搜狐
