JINAN - Korea Republic coach Jo Bonfrere said his team can only get better after an impressive 4-0 victory over Kuwait in their final Group B match on Tuesday. The Koreans finished top of Group B with seven points from two wins and a draw. Jordan finished second after a 0-0 draw against United Arab Emirates in Beijing. "We try to play better and better with every game," said Bonfrere. "The players must band together and play as a team and that's what we did today. "It was the same team that started against UAE, when we won 2-0 and they played with much more confidence. We can only get stronger from here." The Koreans completely dominated the Kuwaitis with their strongest performance of the tournament so far. Strikers Lee Dong-gook, who grabbed a brace, and Cha Du-ri were a constant menace to the Kuwaiti defence while Lee Young-pyo on the left and Park Ji-sung, providing support on the right, were in fine form. Ahn Jung-hwan came on as a subsitute in the second half and also made it look easy with a 25-yard goal in the 75th minute. Bonfrere said the first goal, Lee's free-kick in the 23rd minute, was significant towards to the final score-line. "After we scored the first goal, it gave us more confidence and we played even better," said Bonfrere. "By the time the third goal went in, we were in control. We dropped a few gears in the second half but even then we still managed to score another. "It was a good result overall for us also because it's the first time we've beaten Kuwait in some time. We tell our players that each game is preparation for the next one. Each game is different and we need to play better as we go along." Korea's reward for winning Group B is an extended stay in Jinan, where they meet the runners-up of Group D in the quarter-finals. Jordan, however, must travel to Chongqing to face the Group D winners.(asiacup2004.com) 转自搜狐
