Blessed with a solid, powerful game, Thomas Bjorn emerged as a genuine top class player by capturing the Loch Lomond World Invitational in 1996 over one of the most demanding courses in Europe. The victory proved to be the springboard for Björn to become the first Danish golfer to play in The Ryder Cup. He produced arguably the best performance of his career in the 2001 Dubai Desert Classic, playing all four rounds in the company of Tiger Woods and emerging on top by two shots to win the tournament. He also played a significant part in Europe's win in the 2002 Ryder Cup, two weeks after claiming his seventh European Tour victory in the BMW International Open.
Bjorn has been playing consistently well this year with one 2nd and two 4th positions to show in the three European Tour events he has played in the 2005 calendar, all held in Asia.
