6th East Asian Venue Work Meeting Held

　　On April 25 (Beijing time), the 6th East Asian Venue Work Meeting was held at Tianjin Auditorium. The meeting specified competition tasks and event standards for each venue, marking a new stage for the venue construction and upgrade project of Tianjin East Asian Games.

　　According to the sport events arrangement, the 6th East Asian Games need use a total of 24 venues, which are venues in the charge of the sports system, higher school system and enterprises & institutions. Among other things, 13 venues are newly built, 11 venues are transformed from existing venues, and meanwhile 3 venues are determined to be standby venues.

　　According to the principle of criteria compliance and relative concentration, the venues located in the southern part of Tianjin will mainly hold competition events of the Games. Among other things, Athletics and Men’s Football Finals, which attract worldwide attention, will be held at Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium.

　　During the Games, the organization operating mode will center on venues to establish operating teams for the venues. At present, the General Administration of Sport of China has appointed responsible persons of venue teams and competition managers, and Tianjin will also appoint major responsible persons of venue teams. Sports venue teams will be successively formed after this October. From May 2013, a series of test events will be organized to inspect the preparation state of venues.
