8月25日，2024年全国夏季游泳锦标赛在安徽合肥开赛。在备受关注的男子400米自由泳决赛中，代表浙江队出战的孙杨以3分49秒58的成绩夺冠，拿到了自己解禁复出之后的首枚金牌。他在赛后说“这是一个好的开端”。
China's triple Olympic champion Sun Yang claimed gold in the men's 400m freestyle at the 2024 National Summer Swimming Championships on Sunday in Hefei, East China's Anhui province.
时隔四年半重回赛场的孙杨在25日上午的预赛中，以3分54秒98的成绩位列小组第一、预赛第二晋级决赛。决赛中，孙杨在第五道出战。当他站在比赛起点，全场保持安静，共同屏息等待着这场比赛的开始。在水花翻涌中，孙杨率先到边，拿下了这场复出之战。
Sun, representing Zhejiang province, won his title in three minutes and 49.58 seconds. After returning from a 51-month suspension, the 32-year-old showed his supremacy by leading the race from the first 200m.
“我其实可以做得更好。”这是走到赛后混采区的孙杨说出的第一句话。他坦言，这四年没有比赛，对比赛的节奏和把控生疏了很多，但还是为自己的这个成绩感到高兴，“对我的复出是一个好的开端”。孙杨说，能回到泳池就很开心了，希望在今后的比赛和训练当中，去更好地恢复，希望在明年有一个更好的表现。
"I could have done better," Sun said after the competition. "Four years away from competition, and without intensive training, I do feel rusty in controlling the tempo, and I need more competitions. But it's a good start for my comeback, and I'm happy with this result."
今年5月28日，孙杨为期4年3个月的禁赛结束。25日赛后，孙杨在社交媒体上表示：“我要衷心感谢自己曾经走过的每一段路，那些胜利、失败与挫折，正是它们教会我如何直面人生的重重困难与挑战，如何让自己愈发坚强与自信。”
In June 2021, a panel of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) announced that Sun Yang committed Anti-Doping Rule Violations "when an unsuccessful attempt was made to collect blood and urine samples from him at his residence on September 4-5, 2018."
"The Panel concluded that a period of ineligibility of 4 years and 3 months (i.e. 51 months) commencing on February 28, 2020, is to be imposed on Sun Yang," said the CAS.
孙杨在赛后接受采访时表示：“我这4年经历了从巅峰进入低谷，再从低谷里自己一步一步爬出来。”
虽然相比自己的巅峰时期还有明显的差距，但在孙杨看来，这样一个冠军对自己而言有着极为重要的含义。
In a post-match interview, Sun shared, "Over the past four years, I've experienced a journey from the peak to the valley and then gradually climbed my way back up." While there is a noticeable gap compared to his peak period, Sun believed that this championship heldprofound significance for him.
“不管胜利还是失败，我都想要尝试一下。”他对记者表示：“我觉得每一次失败，也就意味着成功或者胜利的曙光一定会出现。”
“过去的事情我也不想再多去叙述，因为我已经从黑暗里面爬出来了。未来，我希望能够为后面这些‘00后’、‘10后’的小孩起到表率的作用，希望他们能为中国男子游泳贡献更多的力量，因为我们总有一天也会离开泳池。”
"I don't want to dwell on the past anymore because I've already emerged from the darkness," Sun said, adding that he aimed to serve as a role model for the younger generation born in the 2000s and 2010s, hoping they will make significant contributions to Chinese men's swimming.
孙杨坦言，在被禁赛的这四年多时间里，自己一直都在自费进行训练、伤病治疗等工作，“……今年过年我也就只休息了两天，初二下午就回去训练了。”如今拿到这枚金牌后，他打算先陪陪家人。
